The Story of Our Jewelry: Quality, Durability, and Care Instructions
Care Instructions for Your Jewelry
-
Avoid Contact with Chemicals
Keep your jewelry away from perfumes, scented lotions, oils, hair products, and cleaning products. These can cause tarnishing or damage over time. -
Pat Dry After Showering
If wearing your jewelry while showering, gently pat it dry with a soft cloth afterward to prevent moisture buildup. -
Clean Regularly
Use the polishing cloth provided to occasionally wipe your jewelry and maintain its shine. -
For Deeper Cleaning
If your jewelry becomes dirty, dusty, or loses its luster, clean it with a soft cloth, warm soapy water, or a soft-bristled brush for more stubborn dirt. -
Storage
When not in use, store your jewelry in the provided packaging box to prevent scratching or tarnishing. Keeping it in a dry, cool place will help preserve its quality.
How Long Does It Last?
The lifespan of gold-plated stainless steel jewelry depends on a few factors: the quality of the gold plating, how well it is cared for, and the thickness of the plating. At Black Girl Aesthetic Jewelry, we’ve taken extra steps to ensure that the pieces we offer are of exceptional quality and durability.
Before launching, we tested numerous jewelry pieces to ensure they didn’t tarnish, fade, or feel cheap. In fact, I, as the CEO of Black Girl Aesthetic Jewelry, have personally worn and continue to wear pieces from our collection that have been tested since 2021.
About Our Materials
316L Stainless Steel:
Our base material is 316L stainless steel, a premium grade of stainless steel that is superior to regular stainless steel. Unlike ordinary stainless steel, 316L is highly resistant to corrosion, oxidation, and rust. It contains chromium (which gives stainless steel its “stainless” properties) and molybdenum, which further boosts its strength and resistance to corrosion. This makes it incredibly durable, hypoallergenic, and safe for everyday wear, even in the pool, ocean, or shower. Additionally, it is much more resistant to scratches and dents compared to other metals, making it an excellent choice for jewelry that will last.
18k PVD Gold Plating:
Our jewelry is plated with genuine 18k gold using a PVD (Physical Vapor Deposition) process. Unlike traditional gold plating, PVD plating is a more advanced, high-quality method that ensures a thicker, more durable gold coating. The result is a rich, long-lasting gold finish that resists tarnishing and fading far better than regular gold-plated jewelry. PVD gold plating adheres strongly to the base metal, making it far more resilient to wear and tear.
Additionally, we take the extra step of fully coating our jewelry with an anti-tarnish solution, providing an extra layer of protection and helping your pieces maintain their lustrous appearance for longer.
Why We Chose These Materials
We carefully selected 316L stainless steel and PVD gold plating for their strength, durability, and resistance to tarnishing. Stainless steel is known for its ability to withstand daily wear without changing color, rusting, or falling apart. It is also hypoallergenic, making it safe for sensitive skin. The gold plating we use is not only more durable than traditional plating but also gives our jewelry a luxurious finish that lasts.
Our jewelry is designed to be worn in all aspects of life—whether you're at the beach, at a party, or simply going about your day—and with proper care, it will remain beautiful for years to come.
By following the simple care instructions we’ve provided, your jewelry will maintain its shine and beauty for a long time. This combination of high-quality materials, meticulous crafting, and care ensures that you are investing in a piece that is not only stunning but also designed to last.
